Okonomiyaki Umikko

The people are super friendly, the food was so good we ordered seconds... Our favourite place in Naoshima!

Wonderful dinner. Can have both Osaka and Hiroshima style okonomitaki. The wings stuffed with mentaiko is amazing! So good!

Okonomiyaki Umikko is a good place to go to with a group and get there by 18:30 before it gets busy. We ordered #5 special Okonomiyaki Umikko, vegetables, gyzoa, fatty pork, two beers. Generally pretty tasty food.

Food was not bad, but after ordering 3 dishes I was still hungry. 3 dishes (squid arm, dumplings, mix noodles) + small sake = 2550 ¥

Nothing fancy, simple but good meal, you need to take off your shoes when entering.

It is a must if you live in this area. Reasonable price with well cooked food. And you know that it's not so easy to find a dinner place in this island. The chicken BBQ in the pic is highly recommended.

I had okonomiyaki in the best places in Kyoto and Hiroshima and this was by far the best

For Naoshima, reasonably priced and drinking people have good taste and good atmosphere ❗ The accommodation here is the best. It is a good place to walk anywhere. This is an island. Do not mistake the menu choice.

Genuine food and great service. A small waiting area, and a few tables outside if weather is good. Good, honest menu and simple drinks available. You won't be disappointed!

Very friendly family business, you can see local people drinking here. They also have a outdoor seating here, you do need to take off your shoes before you go inside. This might be the one you want to go for dinner if not the only one although the portion was not great but that means you can try different dishes at one time if you like.

Okonomiyaki was delicious and I was so full after having a whole okonomiyaki for myself. We also order some yakitori, rice and beer. The restaurant is very cozy and service was good.

Wandered over from the Yurt camp for an evening takeaway. They were really accommodating and friendly. Good food.

Great place. Walked over here from Benesse House - 10 minutes and eat like a king. So much fun. Only negative is smoking allowed but this is so common in Japan.

Okonomiyakis were just ok though the choice is limited. Very smoky inside, prefer the 2 outdoor tables. If you're in tsutsujiso it is unfortunately almost the only food option.

Great place and a delicious vege pancake for the non meat eaters

This place is a must try, I mean, I haven't tried the other places on the island....yet. But this place shall always be on the must go lists. I mean the Cod stuffed chicken, is delicisioso. The okonomiyaki was very yummy, the beer stayed cold throughout the 15/20 minute conversation at the table. It's the minor details that make the dining experience so much pleasurable. If you are on the island and not visit this place....oh well, don't say you didn't know.

It's so good!! We actually can't find anywhere to eat except this place in the area. But it's really good, delicious and local food.

Excellent food and service. Apart from the great Okonomiyaki, it has a very good Yakitori menu. Particularly recommend the squid.

There are not many places to eat nearby.I've been waiting and it's not bad.Okonomiyaki is delicious both fork and squid.It is just the yaki udon. No big expectations!The yaki tori is made of only a single piece of beer.The gyoza reminds me of my home dumplings.

Very authentic little restaurant. No fuss, just tasty typical food prepared by a friendly couple. I recommend it as you get a feel for the local vibe. What's nice is that your Okonomiyaki or Yakisoba is served directly on a hot teppanyaki in the middle of the table.

Decent food and friendly services. May take bus to the next emperor to get there.A few dinner you can choose the restaurant, fresh and delicious meals, you can take the bus to the next emperor walk away.

This mom and pop store was the only dining option in the area when we visited in the off peak season. Luckily the food was great and the staff were very friendly, even reminding us when it was almost time to catch the last bus out.

Good for the price! 650 JPY for Oyokonomiyaki or Yabi-Soba! Also, 650 for Wagyu, 400 for nice squid.Not very Good quality tho.

Great place with awesome food and staff. Ordered hiroshima okonomiyaki which is not on the menu and they did it without any hassle. Delicious.

Lovely little family run restaurant. Decor isn't exactly Michelin caober, but the food is extremely good. We loved the okonomiyaki and fried noodle dishes. Short, 10-minute walk from Benesse (and 10% of the price). Highly recommend!
